Jane Teresa Anderson

Why choose me to ghostwrite your book?

I am Jane Teresa Anderson, the author of eight of my own books (seven non-fiction and one fiction), five of which have been published by major publishers including Hachette, Random House, Harper Collins, and Piatkus.

Because of the confidential nature of my agreement with clients, I cannot share information about the books I have ghostwritten for other people.

I can tell you that my clients have received significant ROI through income derived from speaking, presenting, consulting, and selling courses using their book as a tool to confirm their expertise and authority.

NON-FICTION

I ghostwrite high quality how-to, self-help, personal development, lifestyle, business, health and wellness, and inspirational expert books (authority books). I personally handcraft every word. (That might sound like a strange thing to say, but it is not uncommon for ghostwriters to outsource their writing to other writers or to use AI.)

FICTION

I also ghostwrite high quality fiction for clients who want to publish their expertise in fictional form. As an example, a coach might ask me to write a book (or a series of short stories) about a fictional character who transforms their life according to the coach’s principles.

What a book can do for your business

You may be a business owner, an entrepreneur, a coach, a therapist, a health and wellness professional, a consultant, a public speaker, a podcaster, or a thought leader too engaged with your daily work and clients to find the time to sit down and write, but have you considered what a book can do for your business?

A professionally written page-turner of a book with your name as author on the front cover confirms your expertise and authority in your field. It attracts new clients, and boosts sales of your courses, workshops, and services. It opens doors for more speaking engagements or invitations to be a guest in the media and on high profile podcasts. It clarifies your unique message and helps people to get to know you as a person.

Complete confidentiality

As your ghostwriter, my name does not appear on or in your book. When the book is complete, you have full copyright as the author. You also have my complete confidentiality throughout the writing process and forever afterward.

Practicalities: the ghostwriting process

  • We meet by Zoom (or phone) during a period of a couple of weeks so I can get to know you and your work, gather what I need to write your book, and explore what will make your book stand out.
  • I then put together an outline/structure for your book and send it to you for your feedback and input.
  • Next I write a sample chapter and send it to you for your feedback.
  • Once we’ve agreed on the structure of your book and the chapter style, I spend about four months writing the first draft. During that time, I may contact you for additional information. I will also send you the draft chapters, one by one, as I complete them.
  • You then read the first draft and we discuss any changes you’d like me to make.
  • I make those changes and work the book up into its second draft.
  • You read the second draft and mark up any final changes which I follow to create the third draft.
  • I engage a copyeditor to review the third draft and fine tune the manuscript. (All professional authors pass their manuscripts through a copy editor before publishing.)
  • Upon payment of your final instalment, I send you the completed manuscript for you to take to a proofreader before you publish your book.

The size of your book

Many popular and best-selling how-to and self-help books are short (40,000 words or less) compared to the standard size (60,000 words). The finished size of your book will depend on several factors including the size of the font, the spacing between lines, and the number of illustrations.

What do you envisage for your book? Find similar books and estimate the total word length (multiply the number of words on an average page by the total number of pages). I write to suit your required word length and vision.

Fee

  • NON-FICTION BOOK: $59,000 AUD (Australian Dollars) for a 40-60,000 word book
  • FICTION BOOK: $75,000 AUD (Australian Dollars) for a 50-60,000 word book
  • How much is this in your currency?
  • A deposit of 10% is payable before we begin, and the balance is paid in instalments during our work together.
  • SHORT STORIES: $1.50 AUD (Australian Dollars) per word.

If you’d like to explore the possibility of you and I working together to create your book, please email me at dreamjta@gmail.com putting GHOSTWRITING in the subject line. I will reply within 48 hours.

I look forward to hearing from you.
